Hazelnuts are nutritious, rich in protein and minerals. Eaten mainly cooked and is one of the very good nuts.
Hazelnuts are a fruit of great nutritional value. It is very rich in fat and especially in “good” monounsaturated, which help to reduce “bad” and total cholesterol, contributing to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. At the same time, it is rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals such as magnesium, potassium, calcium, iron and copper, which are essential for the proper functioning of the body.
What stands out in hazelnuts is their high content of folic acid, which makes them particularly noticeable even during pregnancy, but also in antioxidant vitamin E.
Although hazelnuts are high-calorie foods, there is evidence that their consumption in moderation does not lead to weight gain. On the contrary, it seems that diets including hazelnuts and nuts, in general, are more effective because they cause a feeling of satiety due to the combination of their individual components, such as protein and fiber.
So you can consume a small handful of hazelnuts 3-4 times a week as well as the Mediterranean Diet, whether plain or in pieces in sweets, ice creams, salads or yogurt.
