It is a highly selective dietary option that, while it may … cost a bit more in calories, however, it is probably one of the most beneficial foods for the good health of our body. Tahin is a perfectly natural product, derived from highly selected sesame seeds.
These seeds are then peeled and dried and then pulped, creating a greasy cream, the tahin known to all of us. Its name comes from the Turkish language, where it literally means “the sesame pulp”. This is a nutritional treasure as tahin contains many nutrients valuable to human health. More specifically, it is rich in proteins, vitamins (E, B1, B2, niacin, etc., amino acids and carbohydrates).
Rarely a single food manages to combine all these ingredients, which are essential for the good functioning of the body, and for this reason many think that tahin is a superfood. Where does it benefit? The sesame is rich in calcium, thus preventing osteoporosis, potassium, and zinc to enhance the immune system, manganese, and selenium with a strong antioxidant action and destroy free radicals, copper to strengthen the joints, iron for stimulating the organism and combating anemia, amino acids that contribute to good kidney and liver function, as well as phosphorus and magnesium that dramatically combat headaches or chronic migraines.
The carbohydrates it contains, normalize the gastrointestinal system, its O6 fat reduces cholesterol, and vitamin E it contains, protects the body from aging. Also, studies have shown that tahin has anti-cancer activity and may inhibit Alzheimer’s, heart disease, cataracts, and diabetes.
