The root of ginger is a popular herb, which is characterized by medicinal properties but is also used in cooking. It is the underground root of a small plant belonging to the family Zingiberaceae, of the genus: Zingiber. The scientific name is: Zingiber officinale.
Ginger has been used since antiquity for its anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial properties and for helping to relieve gas stomach.
Contains many ingredients that are associated with health benefits (essential oils) such as ginger, gingerron, sogol, farnesin, and small amounts of β-claddarin, quinol, and citral. Ginteroles help to improve bowel motility and have anti-inflammatory, painkiller (analgesic) and antibacterial properties. They are also considered as nerve sedatives and antipyretic Studies have shown that they can contribute to reducing nausea and pregnancy nausea and that they can help relieve migraines.
